OOOPPSS! BAWAL YAN!  (OOOPPSS! THAT'S NOT OKAY!)

Talking about child sexual harassment is uncomfortable in many Filipino households, so it’s often avoided. But silence doesn’t protect children. Awareness does.
Millions of Filipino children face unsafe situations often from people they already know and trust. Yet many parents lack the tools and language to start these conversations early.

Our Goal
Turn protection into something children can understand.
“Oooppss! Bawal Yan!” is an interactive storybook designed to help children (ages 6–9) recognize, react to, and speak up against inappropriate behavior.
OOOPPSS! BAWAL YAN!
A simple phrase that teaches children to set boundaries.
Repeated throughout the story, it helps children: recognize unsafe situations, build confidence in saying “no”, and remember what to do when something feels wrong.
Learning Through Story
Children follow a character as they encounter everyday situations that may seem harmless but aren’t. Each moment is framed in a way children can easily understand and relate to.
Interactive Scenarios
The book features three guided scenarios that act as learning checkpoints. Instead of just reading, children are encouraged to: identify what feels wrong, respond out loud, and practice setting boundaries.
From Reading to Action
Each scenario reinforces key lessons before moving forward turning passive reading into active learning.
Approachable by Design
To balance a sensitive topic, the visuals are intentionally soft and inviting.
Rounded shapes and expressive characters make the story feel safe while still delivering an important message.
Designed to Be Remembered
A playful handwritten typeface highlights key phrases making them easier for children to recall.
Clean, simple body text ensures readability for both parents and young readers.
A Safe Visual Language
Bright, playful colors create a welcoming space for children.
This contrast helps open up difficult conversations without fear or intimidation.
Why It Matters
By giving parents the right tools and language this storybook helps families start conversations that matter.
Because children can’t report what they don’t understand and parents can’t teach what they don’t talk about.
Beyond the Book
The message extends into everyday touchpoints. From educational kits and school materials to public posters, billboards, and social media stories, the idea lives where children and parents interact, reinforcing the lesson through constant exposure.
